Camera Man’s Journey

Visit turn-of-the-century South Carolina as seen through the camera of professional photographer Julian Dimock, whose work appeared in major travel and nature magazines in the early 1900s. On loan from the South Carolina State Museum, this fascinating collection features large format black and white images of African-Americans in everyday life, documenting the clothing, tools, toys, landscape and architecture of the period.

The rich Gullah culture – rooted in the sea island lifestyle developed by West African slaves more than 300 years ago – comes to life in this fascinating exhibit featuring paintings, sweetgrass baskets, batiks and sculptures created by regional artists.


Crayola Dream-Makers

Beaufort County’s youngest artists get their turn in the spotlight in this exhibit created by elementary and middle school students who participated in this year's Crayola Dream-Makers Program.
